With evolving technology, corporate work heavily relies on digital tools and advanced systems. However, the use of Artificial Intelligence and cloud-based workflows also increases the danger of cyber-attacks and data breaches, creating tension between productivity and the business environment.
According to the CyberArk report, “65% of office workers surveyed admitted they’ve found ways to get around cybersecurity policies in the name of productivity. 27% of those surveyed use one password across multiple accounts to avoid aggravation, while 20% say they use personal devices as WiFi hotspots.”
Furthermore, a report unveiled that 72% of employees use AI technology for official work. Around 50% of working people don’t adhere to companies’ policies about confidential information or businesses don’t have an AI policy.
Therefore, modern organizations adapt modern solutions to prevent cyber-attacks. Multi-factor authentication and real-time threat detection protect sensitive data. However, when employees reuse passwords and are careless about their official privacy, they create vulnerabilities.
The CyberArk study presents the following survey about employees.
Reasons of vulnerabilities | Employees % |
Password Reuse | 49% |
Password Sharing | 30% |
Device Security Gaps | 36% |
AI Risks | 72% |
Personal Devices | 80% |
Sharing Confidential Data | 52% |
However, employees are pivotal in organizations’ cybersecurity. Even advanced multi-factor security can be breached with a single weak password. Companies should take severe steps to spread awareness about cyber-attacks and data breaches.
In addition to enhancing digital security, firms must build security strategies with their passionate employees. Even with the right intentions, small shortcuts for fast logins can cause malware and data breaches. So, every employee has to abide by security policies to safeguard their official work.
